It’s Halloween week folks! I have some halloween speech therapy ideas that are easy and fun for therapy!! I went with a lot of easy, no prep types of activities because IEP season is HERE peeps. I am trying not to lose my mind with all the assessments I am doing. Just going to the copier room leaves me subject to getting another referral! Okay….on with the fun, no more complaining.
I drew a spider with legs on the white board and used my suction cup ball to play with as a game! The person with the most points wins!!
My articulation kiddos used my spider web speech worksheets from my Autumn No Prep, Print N’ Go Packs. Later this week, we will be using a few other worksheets from my pack that have a halloween theme.
We worked on basic concepts with my pumpkin and spooky skeleton from the dollar store!
My kids LOVE my broomsticks game! I always tell the story line to go with the game and they eat it up!!
With my younger crowd, we have been reading Room on the Broom and using WhtineySLP’s book companion activities! It has made therapy planning so easy! We worked on sequencing, following directions, answering wh-questions and learning new vocabulary!
With my social skill groups we are going to be talking about the hidden social rules for halloween as well as using Prespective taking activity with cats and dogs dressed up in halloween costumes.
With some of my older boys, we are going to be playing paper toss halloween style! Check out my post about it! What do you have going on in your speech room this week? I would love to hear about it!!
This would be really interesting to do for my kid. He has speech therapy and we are trying to get him to do better. He has some homework but not very much because he is little. I think this would really help him. I bet you could actually do this with any holiday.
Awesome ideas! Thanks for sharing! I would love to hear more about the broomstick game. I’m planning on doing some spider races with plastic spiders & straws. Some of favorite Halloween activities include using interactive toys for my autistic PK kids. I also like using the following directions worksheets from Enchanted learning. I also like the old lady who swallowed a bat & other books
Here is the link to the witch game! https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Flying-Broomsticks-An-Enchanted-Witch-Game-377437 Love the idea of the spider races. This year we are going to make a spiders craft with my any craft speech and language companion cut n’ glue cards as well as read Room on a Broom and The Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of anything. I am also incorporating monsters this year!
