I have been doing theme therapy since I worked in the preschool sector. Then I transitioned to a public school with K-5 graders. I thought to myself, why do I have to give up themes. It was a complete life saver. ESPECIALLY because the topics discussed in class are fly by night! But I go ALL OUT with classroom decor and with all the activities. I have launched 4 themes during the past 5yrs that last 4-5 months. It has been the best thing that has happened to me. The kids buy into the theme and are so excited to come to speech therapy. THANKS for putting into words what has been working for me so planning lessons are less stressful!
