The other day, I played hangman with my speech articulation groups and they loved it! Sometimes I forget the simplest games can keep my kids happy and working hard on their goals. I found this create your own snowman clip art and decided to make some products for you all. This one is in honor of the great game hangman that I grew up playing. It’s called Don’t melt the snowman! Same rules apply as hangman, but the only difference is that every time you guess a letter that is not in your word or phrase, you take a piece off of the snowman. If all the pieces fall off, then your snowman melted and you lose the game.
Materials you need:
My snowman picture icons
Laminator (preferably thicker pages)
Scissors
Velcro
Laminated colored paper
First print out my snowman icons on card stock, laminate and cut out the pieces. Then laminate a solid piece of card stock to build your snowman. Put velcro on each piece of the snowman. Then hang on your white board or just place on your table. Pick a winter themed word or phrase for the students to guess letters. As the student practices their goals, they can take a turn guessing a letter. It keeps them busy while practicing their speech and language needs. Here is a picture of the snowman with some of the pieces missing.
Grab that FREEBIE template HERE. Let me know how it goes in your speech rooms. I would love to hear how you are using this resource.
