Hey Hey Hey SLPs! In this week’s episode, I will be talking about three things that you can do before you start implementing a co-teaching model. Co-teaching is a collaborative service model where you and the classroom teacher are both teaching a lesson simultaneously together, and you have defined roles and expectations for how you both are going to be teaching during the lesson. If you use these three tips that I share in today’s episode, you will be set up for success!!

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • Define your roles with the teacher
    • Know the classroom rules, understand the BIPs, how you will communicate
  • Create the setup for the lessons each week
    • Know what skills you will be targeting
  • Be prepared for implementing the lessons
    • Have visuals
    • Make a plan for transitions
    • Have sheets for data
